Franchise owners came to Las Vegas to recognize the best performing studios, growth, contributors and entrepreneurship among the nation's nearly 230 therapeutic massage studios.

National Franchise Elements Massage™ (Elements), celebrated its best of the best at the annual awards ceremony Wednesday evening in Las Vegas. Hundreds of franchise owners gathered at the Red Rock Casino Resort and Spa to honor their peers and elevate the brand during a three-day conference. The achievements of many have made Elements one of the most successful franchised massage brands in the United States.

“This exceptional group of franchise owners has really created a culture of success," says John Kutac, COO of WellBiz Brands Inc., franchisor of the Elements brand. "These awards honor their hard work and commitment to be great. Their passion to help others is why Elements is number one in customer satisfaction around the nation."*

The highest honor went to Pam and Nelson Crespo at the Scottsdale Promenade studio in Arizona. The Crespo’s earned the Revenue Cup for the highest single studio revenue in 2015. The Crespo’s generated more than $ 1.25 million in sales in 2015.

“This award means everything to us,” said Nelson Crespo. “It means we are doing what we are supposed to be doing. It’s an honor to be a vanguard and it’s an honor to be chosen and recognized for our hard work and we appreciate that.”

“We’ve got a great staff,” Pam Crespo added. ”They represent us and we couldn’t be prouder for them.”

Zach Zimmerer was named "Franchisee of the Year" award for multiple achievements that included the highest percentage of growth from 2014 to 2015. The multi-studio owner with locations in Highpointe, Highlands Ranch and Littleton, Colo., excelled in many key performance areas, adhered to brand standards, shared best practices with the Elements system, and performed as an overall all-star and brand ambassador for the franchise.

“It is an honor for us to receive the award with so many owners passionate about, and committed to, providing the best massage,” Zimmerer said.  “Our teams have done an incredible job working together to build a strong culture for our clients and each other.  I couldn't be more proud of the team to receive recognition for the work we've done.”

The "Strongest Opening" was awarded to Andrew and Jill Dudka, from Mansfield, Mass. The Dudka’s opened their studio in February, 2015, attracting 217 new client trials each month, and gaining 169 new clients in the Elements Wellness Program™ in their first 90 days, thus providing the most massages and ringing up the most sales for a start-up.

Companies are especially honored to have individuals who go beyond the call of duty to help others and strengthen their brand. Mark Little, of Southpark, N.C., was awarded for being the "Greatest Contributor" with his continuing efforts to be a leader in the Elements system while also running a successful studio himself. Little is always available and is constantly reaching out to help his colleagues, and participate in events, webinars and other initiatives that support the company.

"You could have knocked me over with a feather I was so surprised,” said Little excitedly. “I just really try to model back what I see in other owners. It’s great what we all do to help people feel better. We share our knowledge and try to help each other be successful.”

One of the key components to the success of an Elements studio is the manager, who generally runs the day-to-day operations of the business. To be considered for "Manager of the Year," recipients must be nominated by franchise owners for their overall contributions to the success of the studio and the Elements brand. This year's recipient is Rosie Novello, being recognized for her dedicated work as the manager of the Elements Massage studio in Palatine, Ill.

"This honor was really exciting,” says Novello. “I took a pay cut to come work for Elements. The owners are brilliant and they trust me implicitly. I’ve finally found a place that I can call home and make a difference.”

“She’s not just an employee, she’s a partner,” added Dan Benson, co-owner with Dave Ablin. “She manages three studios and more than 75 employees, and she grows the studios. Rosie cares for her employees like family and we respect her opinion. If the three of us disagree, she’s always the tiebreaker.”

Finally, the "Rising Star" award goes to Hugh and Shauna Washburn of South Jordan, Utah. The Washburn’s earned the honor for year-to-year revenue and membership growth from 2014 to 2015 and for converting the largest number of new members into the Elements Wellness Program™.  The Washburns experienced a 119-percent increase in revenue growth over 2014. Their new member growth rose by more the 111-percent in 2015.

"We’ve just worked so hard and we can’t thank our staff enough,” said Hugh Washburn. “They love our clients and everyone is there to help anyone who walks through our doors.”

These outstanding individuals are among the reasons revenues were up 20.1-percent system wide over 2014 and 25 new studios were opened in 2015. Elements is on track to add approximately 35 new studios in 2016.
